Playing Hunters On-Chain on MainNet: A Comprehensive Guide

There are a couple of things you need to know ahead of the MainNet release to ensure your Genesis Hunters are properly stored and ready for action! The game currently supports Sequence Wallet as the sole compatible wallet, this means your Genesis Hunters need to be in the Sequence Wallet you intend to use for Gameplay.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We are operating an “access list” which will enable holders to gain access to the MainNet build. This process involves taking a snapshot of the wallet addresses who hold Genesis Hunters and giving these wallet addresses exclusive access to the MainNet build.

Your Genesis Hunters must be in the Sequence Wallet you want to use on MainNet by 6pm UTC on 19th July, 2023 for you to be able access the game immediately upon it’s release on the 20th.

IF you miss the deadline or purchase a Genesis Hunter on the secondary market after this deadline you will still be able to access the game following the next “access list” update. These updates will take place every day at 6pm UTC.

This article provides a detailed guide to set up and move your Genesis Hunters to a Sequence Wallet and get started playing Hunters On-Chain on MainNet.

Step 1: Understanding the Sequence Wallet Compatibility

As of now, the only wallet compatible with Hunters On-Chain is the Sequence Wallet.

Sequence Wallet has been the wallet of choice during the Hunters On-Chain on TestNet phase and there are certain aspects of the game that have been built with Sequence Wallet technology in mind. For this first phase of the MainNet release it therefore makes sense to launch with Sequence being the initial compatible wallet solution.

Please note, it is in the roadmap to support additional wallets in the future, and the team will update the community as soon as further developments take place.

Step 2: Storing Genesis Hunters in Your Sequence Wallet

If you’re already holding your MainNet Genesis Hunter in a Sequence Wallet the transition to MainNet should be seamless. Your Genesis Hunters, already in the Sequence Wallet, are ready for MainNet play.

However, if your Genesis Hunters are housed in a different wallet (for example MetaMask), you will need to transfer them to your Sequence Wallet before you can start playing Hunters On-Chain on MainNet. Here’s how:

  1. Access Your Current Wallet: Open your existing wallet where your Genesis Hunters are currently stored.
  2. Prepare for Transfer: Find your Genesis Hunters in your current wallet. There should be an option to send or transfer these assets. Click on it.
  3. Enter Your Sequence Wallet Address: You will be prompted to enter a destination address for your Genesis Hunters. Here, you should enter your Sequence Wallet address. Ensure that this address is correct; any mistake could result in the loss of your Genesis Hunters.
  4. Confirm and Send: Once the destination address is confirmed, proceed with the transfer. It may take a few minutes to an hour for the transaction to complete, depending on network conditions.

Please Note: Following the Sequence API update that took place 3 weeks ago, the “TestNet” Sequence Wallet address you have been using to access the TestNet build will also now work as a MainNet address.

By switching on TestNet mode you will be able to see both your MainNet and TestNet assets in the wallet.

Step 3: Confirm the Transfer

Once the transfer process is completed, check your Sequence Wallet. Your Genesis Hunters should now be visible within your wallet, ready to participate in the Hunters On-Chain on MainNet.

Step 4: Start Playing Hunters On-Chain

Now that your Genesis Hunters are in your Sequence Wallet, you can start playing Hunters On-Chain on MainNet. The gameplay should be similar to the experience on TestNet, with the added excitement of every transaction taking place on chain!

Before We Go

The transition from TestNet to MainNet for Hunters On-Chain is an exciting development not just for the BoomLand team but for Web3 gaming as a whole!

Remember, the process may evolve as additional wallets become compatible with Hunters On-Chain. Make sure to stay updated with the latest news and developments by staying connected with the Hunters On-Chain community. Happy hunting!

FAQ

What is a Sequence Wallet?

Sequence Wallet is a versatile digital asset wallet designed for Web3.

The Sequence Wallet operates within the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) ecosystem which is the runtime environment for smart contracts in Ethereum. It’s completely isolated from the mainnet, which means each smart contract runs in a sandboxed environment, making it secure for carrying out transactions.

Being an EVM-compatible wallet, Sequence allows users to interact with all the decentralized applications (dApps) built on EVM-based chains. This means users can manage not only Ethereum but also other EVM-compatible tokens, such as Polygon (MATIC), Avalanche, and Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

Why is Sequence the only compatible wallet?

Wallet integration is an essential part of the building of Web3 games. Each compatible wallet requires a great deal of thought and resource to ensure it works seamlessly with the gaming environment. Rather than delaying our MainNet release any longer, we thought it best to focus on providing one compatible wallet, rather than providing a number of solutions that may have not worked as intended given our timeframes. Sequence happens to be the wallet that has supported us through the TestNet phase of development and so therefore it has made sense for the first MainNet release to be supported by this solution.

How do I know it’s safe to transfer to my Sequence wallet with a Testnet address after all previous warnings not to?

This is a great question! You may have seen that 3 weeks ago there was an update to Sequence API that meant there was no longer any need to have different TestNet and MainNet wallets. Every single Sequence wallet that have ever been created is now perfectly capable of working on both TestNet and MainNet. Where before, sending your assets to a Sequence TestNet address would mean your asset was lost as there was nowhere internally for that Wallet to house it, this is no longer the case. You can freely move your MainNet assets between any Sequence address — even if it was a TestNet address before now.

Will I lose my Holder role in Discord if I move my assets to Sequence?

If you already have a holder role within our Discord then your role will be frozen in its current status, effective immediately. You will not lose your holder role in Discord when you transfer your Hunters to your Sequence wallet.

If you buy a Genesis Hunter or Genesis Chest on the secondary market and are not currently a verified holder in the BoomLand Discord server, please open a ticket and one of our moderators will walk you through the process of becoming verified.
